Case Profile: Flying Saucer Contactee Truman Bethurum (1898-1969) – Mark Russell Bell's Blog

The Contactee movement inspired many books and much interesting reading. Here Mark Russell Bell provides a substantial article about one of the most fascinating of contactees and his remarkable contact, Aura Rhanes, Captain of the “Admiral Scow” and messenger from the planet Clarion. Bell next moves to “contactee” Daniel W. Fry and the explanations of “unseen communicator” Extra-Terrestrial ‘Alan’ On Energy Sources. Hakan Blomqvist devotes a post to The UFO Observations of Edith Nicolaisen, returning to the life and work of an important “Danish/Swedish” publisher whose letters to and from numerous contactees and UFO figures included those with John Keel. Keel himself is the subject in Letters to and from Charles Bowen, May 9 and 12, 1966. These dwell largely upon the publication business, specifically Keel’s projected Playboy article and Bowen’s Flying Saucer Review. Their interchanges are continued in A Letter to Charles Bowen, May 16, 1966. As with the previous exchange, some of the most notorious UFO cases of the 1960s are referenced and the interplay of the hope of impending major developments in UFO acceptance and the reality of the “UFO giggle factor” is illustrated.
