Flying Saucer Pilgrimage – Hakan Blomqvist's Blog

“It is generally a good idea to return to the classics in any genre.” Thus begins Hakan Blomqvist’s new appreciation of a remarkable contactee book. Hakan’s description of a two-year journey through contacteeland of the 50’s made us move our copy of Flying Saucer Pilgrimage, by Bryant and Helen Reeve, to the “read soon” part of his library. A similarly-named individual figures in The Reeves Papers (1). Only here it’s John Reeves, who allegedly found alien writing in 1965. John Keel puzzles over this bit of ET communication, and its possible genesis in a novel human writing system. A more easily deciphered missive is featured in A Letter to Charles Bowen, November 16, 1966. This note concerns Keel’s telephonic confrontations with a husband and wife team intending to “poach” Bowen’s book The Humanoids. The letter is a dramatic last installment of the Keel-Bowen correspondence found by John Keel site manager Doug Skinner. Doug promises more Keelian stuff, of which the “Reeves Papers” article was the first example. (WM)
