Egyptologists have recently discovered a royal tomb adjacent (as in, directly through the wall) to an already excavated crypt. The find has been made more interesting by the illustrations throughout the tomb of baboons worshipping the solar boat of Egyptian god Ra-Atum. It is hoped that more tombs will be found adjoining previously uncovered vaults. While we’re discussing the beliefs of the East, let’s not forget about Bizarre Encounters with the Weird in the Middle East Wars. Flesh eating ghools, cave lurking vampires, bigfoot-like primates, and Nephilim throwbacks–the US soldiers stationed in Iran and Afghanistan have either experienced or heard all about the creatures that have terrorized the local people over the centuries and into modern times. Unlike Western culture though, these anomalies are given proper respect and space by the population, the better to avoid being eaten. (CM)
