Sandra Martin Interview – AP Magazine

Sandra Martin shares memories of an amazing life in an easy-going interview with Brent Raynes. Martin was a pioneer in bringing the subjects of “consciousness, deep spirituality, healing and the paranormal” into the literary mainstream. Some of the stories she tells are about characters like John Keel, Dean Radin, and Ingo Swann, while others relate to her own anomalous experiences. As his literary agent for a time, Martin came to revere the “grumpy” Keel, who “had such spirit,” was interested in so much, and was such a great writer. Martin and Raynes note how Doug Skinner’s website John Keel: Not An Authority on Anything shows Keel trying hard to put things together, to make sense of what he’s encountering. An example is to be found in Special Cases–The Long Island File (89): Perhaps I Can’t Save Anyone. Here the six-month odyssey of John Keel into the uncharted world of the Long Island Contactees appears to be ending badly, and Keel writes what he expects shall be a conclusion to that particular story. In this powerful chapter, despair and resignation vie with a resolve to continue in some way with Keel’s own quest to understand the “big picture.” But it does not look like he will see this set of human pawns again.
