His Majesty will touch down in Belfast for his 40th visit to the province – but it is his first as King, and his saddest. This evening the Queen will leave her beloved Scotland for the last time.

The creator and writer of the hit HBO television series Succession has taken swipe at Britain’s new king, days after he ascended the throne. Jesse Armstrong, 51, is himself British.

King Charles and Camilla are going to continue to use Clarence House as their London residence and are in ‘no rush’ to move into Buckingham Palace.

The Queen’s coffin is arriving in London this evening and will be taken by hearse to Buckingham Palace. It will be carried to the Bow Room (above), where Charles and other royals can mourn.

King Charles III, Anne, the Princess Royal, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward each stood on one of the four corners of the coffin with their heads bowed.
