King Charles III is today being proclaimed as head of state at ceremonies across Britain and the Commonwealth – from the devolved UK parliaments to the capitals of Australia and New Zealand.

Governor-General David Hurley will proclaim King Charles III’s ascension to the throne at a solemn ceremony today after a meeting with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Moments after the King left Buckingham Palace, his car stopped on The Mall and he was seen getting out of the vehicle. The King was accompanied by his aides as he left his Rolls-Royce.
