The new King Charles was given a pen ‘just in case’ by well-wishers on his walkabout in Cardiff yesterday after his latest ink disasters.

The profane South African comedian told his guffawing audience on the Daily Show that King Charles is not the right person to lead the British monarchy.

King Charles III led his siblings and senior Royal Family members in walking behind the Queen’s coffin as this afternoon it made its way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall.

At 2.22pm Her Majesty was carried down The Mall on a gun carriage – a tradition dating back to the death of her great-grandmother Queen Victoria in 1901.

The Queen is staying in Buckingham Palace overnight before she is transported to lie in state ahead of her funeral. Prince William and Prince Harry will escort the coffin to Westminster.
