The Court of Appeal has cleared 12 more former subpostmasters who were wrongly convicted of offences as a result of the Post Office Horizon scandal.
Former members of the Nine O’Clock Service, set up in Sheffield in the 1980s, are considering legal action against the Church after allegations of sexual and emotional abuse were made in 1995.
More than 700 branch managers were prosecuted of crimes including fraud and theft when money went ‘missing’ from their UK Post Office accounts.
The corporation’s chairman Richard Sharp announced a review of governance, saying problems of accountability, transparency and integrity ‘clearly existed’.
