The Man Who Vanished – Supernatural Staffordshire

Paranormal investigator Damon Simms shares this tale from a gentleman recounting an evening spent home alone when he was 18. Or was he alone? That question remains unanswered, but as Simms philosophizes, “We all need to remember that life is only as real as the things we experience in it and for some that is proof enough that spirits really do exist.” Sometimes though, a vanishing man is not proof of ghosts, but of wrong doing and lies. The Case of the Vanishing Lieutenant focuses on 26-year-old Army First Lieutenant Paul Byron Whipkey, a model soldier who, the official story goes, drove himself into the desert to die of dehydration. His brother didn’t buy that story then, and after years of army stonewalling, he doesn’t now. (CM)
