The Night John Lennon Saw a UFO – Medium

A look at people affected by unidentified flying objects begins with this detailed Bryce Zabel account of perhaps the strangest experience in a life of mega-experiences. Zabel says: “People tend to dismiss his sighting because…Hey, it’s a John Lennon UFO story, right?” David Halperin has if anything invested even more meaning in this Lennon story, giving an Epilogue to it in his recent book Intimate Alien: The Hidden Story of the UFO. Sara Casaus asserts Here Are All the Celebrities Who Claim They’ve Seen Real UFOs. Or maybe a headline writer wrote the “All” declaration, as the article doesn’t mention Lennon and Casaus herself says it’s only “a list of a few celebrities.” One man who became an unintended celebrity in the UFO world was William Brenton Nash, one half of the celebrated July 14, 1952 Nash-Fortenberry aerial UFO sighting. The case is so iconic because of the credibility of the pilot witnesses and detailed nature of their report, and the strange behavior of what they reported. The son of Nash’s co-witness William Fortenberry left a graceful condolence message on Nash’s obituary page, and we agree that William Nash “should never be forgotten.” And in A Letter to Lynn Catoe, February 2, 1968 John Keel describes a potpourri of people of various backgrounds touched in some way by the UFO phenomenon.
