My friend and i were driving home from hastings michigan last month when we saw two pairs of what looked like contrails. this was an evening, probably 6:30. still very bright outside. we thought they were jets, but resembled more of a comet trail not a contrail.
then, on another occasion, as i was returning from work one afternoon around 2:30 pm alone, i photographed another of these contrail/comet tail such events. i really thought nothing much of either event until i saw a las vegas area (i believe) report of something almost identical.
